National Conference on “Gender Justice – Contemporary Issues and Emerging Challenges”

St. Joseph’s College of Law, Bengaluru, successfully hosted a National Conference on “Gender Justice – Contemporary Issues and Emerging Challenges” on May 9, 2025, in hybrid mode, attracting participants from over 20 institutions across the nation, including students, researchers, and legal professionals. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. V.S. Elizabeth from NLSIU and featured more than 40 research paper presentations on critical issues such as gender neutrality, menstrual equity, transgender rights, and the criminalization of marital rape. Eminent academicians from institutions like Alliance University, Manipal Law School, Symbiosis Law School, Dayananda Sagar University, and Government Law College Kolar chaired the sessions and adjudicated the presentations. Best Paper Awards were conferred upon Neelesh Nandan & Anoushka Chitragar of K.L.E Law College and Sureshbabu Bharati for their outstanding contributions. The conference concluded with a panel discussion and called for continued research, advocacy, and policy engagement in advancing gender justice.
