The Model United Nations (MUN) Committee Orientation for first-year students was intended to provide an in-depth introduction to the MUN process, and to offer participants the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in future MUN conferences.

Mr. Edwin Joney, the Faculty Coordinator for the MUN Committee, led the orientation he began by outlining the basic principles and objectives of MUN, stressing the value of the experience in enhancing student understanding of international relations, diplomacy, and public speaking.

The orientation provided an overview of essential MUN concepts and strategies to help participants navigate their roles effectively in future conferences. The key topics covered included understanding the MUN process, Research and preparation, public speaking and debate, negotiation and diplomacy, committee procedures, MUN etiquette and protocol.
