Two-Day Orientation Program on Client Counselling

Moot Court Society of St. Joseph’s College of Law, Bangalore organized a two-day Orientation Program on Client Counselling on the 8th and 9th of April 2026 in the A.V. Room of the college.

The program aimed at enhancing practical legal skills among students, particularly focusing on effective client interaction, communication techniques, and professional ethics. The event saw active participation from students of both Integrated Law Courses and LL.B. programs, with a total of around 80 students registering for the program.

Day 1: 8th April 2026
Time- 1.30p.m.- 2.45p.m.

The first day of the orientation program was conducted by Mr. Chandan B.R. Reddy. He introduced students to the fundamentals of client counselling and emphasized the importance of building trust, maintaining confidentiality, and understanding client needs. The session was interactive, with real-life examples and discussions that helped students gain clarity on the role of a lawyer as a counsellor.

Following the session, an interactive discussion was held for about 15–20 minutes.

Day 2: 9th April 2026
Time- 1.30p.m.- 2.45p.m.

The second day of the program was conducted by Mr. Ashwin Radhakrishnan. His session focused on the practical aspects of client counselling, including communication skills, problem identification, and ethical responsibilities. Students were encouraged to actively participate, making the session engaging and insightful.

An interactive session was conducted following their presentation, lasting approximately 20–25 minutes.

The two-day orientation program was informative and beneficial for all participants. It provided students with valuable exposure to practical aspects of legal practice and helped in developing essential client counselling skills. The program concluded successfully with positive feedback from the students.
