Constitution Day Celebration

The primary objective of the Constitution Day Celebration was to create awareness among students about the significance of the Indian Constitution and the values enshrined in the Preamble. The programme aimed to encourage students to understand and uphold the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.

The Constitution Day celebration began at with the collective reading of the Preamble. The programme opened with Irene, who introduced the event and invited the participants for each segment. The event continued with a meaningful speech by Ganga, a student of St. Joseph’s College of Law, who spoke on the importance of Constitution Day. This was followed by a melodious Preamble Song performed by the College Choir, adding a patriotic tone to the celebration.

The formal Preamble reading was then conducted by Hamsa, reaffirming the constitutional ideals. After this, Father Jerald D’Souza, our Director, addressed the gathering and shared a few thoughtful words. A vibrant dance performance by our cultural team added an artistic and energetic dimension to the celebration. Following this, faculty members were invited to sign the Preamble, symbolising their commitment to constitutional values.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Leyo Mathew, who expressed gratitude to the faculty, organizers, and students for their enthusiastic participation. The event was well-received and appreciated for its meaningful blend of educational and cultural elements.

The Constitution Day celebration successfully strengthened students’ understanding of the Preamble and its guiding values. It encouraged them to reflect on their role as responsible and informed citizens, fostering a deeper appreciation for the Constitution and its relevance in shaping democratic society.
