NSS Camp to Mungod

The camp to Mungod was organized to educate on forest rights act, sanitation and hygiene and importance of primary education and to build awareness on Ayushman Bharat and E-Shram cards, self-help groups. The camp began with an orientation session at the LVK Campus where students were introduced to the core themes of the camp and a team visit to Jogeshwarhalla village, where they conducted a preliminary survey and engaged in casual interactions with locals.

Volunteers conducted door-to-door awareness on the Forest Rights Act, 2006 and guided villagers on how to apply for Ayushman Bharat and E-Shram cards included street plays on the importance of education, health rights, and women’s safety, conducted group meetings with women and elders, focusing on the formation of SHGs, clean surroundings, and legal identity registration under E-Shram. The team also entertained children and the public with folk songs and dances promoting sanitation and education.

The final day began with a visit to Attiveri Gowlidaddi, followed by an enriching cultural exchange at the Tibetan Settlement in Mundgod. Students visited monasteries, interacted with the Tibetan community, and learned about their traditions. The camp concluded with group reflections before departing to Bangalore.
