National Youth Day

Theme: Arise, Awake and realise the power you hold.

The government of India declared the 12 of January as the National Youth Day in 1984 to celebrate the life and works of the great social leader and Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda.

The day is dedicated to inspiring young minds, promoting education and encouraging community service. The celebration provides an opportunity for educating young people about social consciousness, leadership, and responsibility through a variety of talks, events, and cultural events.

St. Joseph's College of law, under the banner of NSS unit observed the day with the theme for National Youth Day, 2024 “Arise, Awake, and Realise the Power You Hold”. Calling all young people to be aware and stand-up justice and be catalyst for positive changes and social transformation with a talk by Ms. Blessy Sudarsan, faculty encouraging students to be involved with their peers and society.

In closing, the speaker pondered upon a few words from the man himself -"Our duty is to encourage everyone in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth." "Arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is achieved."
