Arche Moot Court Competition 2025

The Moot Court Society organized the Arche Moot Court Competition on 6th December, 2025 as part of its annual academic activities. The competition was conducted with the objective of familiarizing first-year law students with the art of mooting and practical courtroom advocacy. Participation was open to all first-year students enrolled in the three-year LL.B. programme as well as the five-year integrated law programme.

The competition received an overwhelming response, with a total of 98 teams registering for the event. The proceedings were carried out in a phased and well-structured manner. The draw of lots, which marked the formal initiation of the competition, was conducted on 4th December, 2025. Prior to the oral rounds, a Researchers’ Test was held on 25th November, 2025 to evaluate the research aptitude, legal reasoning, and analytical skills of the participants.

The oral rounds were conducted on 6th December, 2025, wherein teams presented their arguments before the judges in a simulated court setting. The moot proposition was framed on important principles of Tort Law and encompassed concepts such as trespass, defamation, and the rights and liabilities of a de facto owner. The problem required participants to apply theoretical knowledge to practical legal issues, thereby enhancing their understanding of substantive law and procedural aspects of advocacy.

The Arche Moot Court Competition served as an effective training platform for first-year students by fostering skills in legal research, drafting, oral advocacy, and courtroom etiquette. The successful conduct of the competition reflects the Moot Court Society’s sustained efforts towards promoting experiential legal education and nurturing foundational mooting skills among students.
