‘BALA-MELA’ 24 was organized on 15th December, dedicated to the children of the Migrant workers, with whom the AICUF has been closely associated.

The event commenced with a prayer dance put up by one of the tuition centres. The latter part of the day threw open various games stalls and counters to over 150 children, studying from grades 5 to 10. Meanwhile drawing competition was conducted for the interested students. The children enjoyed all the games organized for them and won several prizes on the spot.

After the games, the children were served lunch sponsored by Putta’s canteen from SJCL. It was followed by a short cultural programme where children from each of the tuition centres put up a dance performance. The programme witnessed a display of talents from various age groups. The AICUF volunteers added to the glitz by engaging the children with a street play on the importance of education, a dance, and action songs.

To conclude, every child was given 2 educational kits by BIRDS and SJCL to encourage them to sustain their interest in studies and education. The winners of the drawing competition were also declared and awarded.
