CONSTITUTION WEEK

On the eve of the 75th Constitution Day, to pay tribute to three prominent pioneers of the Indian freedom movement and the Indian Constitution: Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Rabindranath Tagore the participants observed a day-long fast and a barefoot walk to the Gandhi statue and an inter-religious prayer session where the works and legacies of these great figures were explored.

On the second day, participants were allowed to demonstrate their creativity and deepen their understanding of the constitutional principles and their importance with the poster making event.

On the third day of Constitution Week 2024, a thought-provoking panel discussion on “Revolution and Counter Revolution: Understanding the Subtle War on the Rule of Law and Constitutionalism in India.” was organized. Professor Surjit and Adv. Naman offered opposing perspectives on the role of the constitution in addressing the rights of minorities. The Question Hour allowed students to engage directly with the panelists, offering an opportunity for them to express their views and challenge the opinions presented.

On the last day, an engaging Constitution Quiz in Kannada and a Drawing Competition for government school students in Bangalore was organized to enhance their understanding of the Indian Constitution. This initiative provided a valuable platform to not only deepen their understanding of constitutional principles but also encourage them to engage with the Constitution in a meaningful and interactive way.
