As part of the Faculty Development Program, a seminar was organized for the teaching staff on issues relating to child sexual abuse and online bullying. The seminar aimed to enhance faculty awareness of relevant legal frameworks and to promote a secure, ethical, and healthy teacher–student relationship.

The seminar was conducted on the topic “Online Sexual Abuse of Children in India: Challenges under POCSO and Emerging Legal Responses” and was facilitated by Dr. Jasmine Alex, Assistant Professor, School of Indian Legal Thought, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. The session provided valuable insights into the challenges posed by digital platforms, the application of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and emerging legal responses to online abuse.

The seminar was held on 14 January 2026 from 10:50 AM to 12:10 PM in online mode. The session was well received by the faculty and contributed meaningfully to strengthening institutional capacity in addressing child protection concerns.

The seminar was successfully conducted. The seminar also followed a discussion with the resource person and thus fostering positive engagement from participants.
