Outreach Program - Visit to Dinanilaya Convent - 1st BA LLB A

On 28th August, 2025, 1 BA LLB ‘A’ conducted an outreach programme at Dinanilaya Convent, an orphanage, with the objective of extending financial and emotional support to the residents. The preparation began with fundraising, where the target was ₹23,000 with a minimum requirement of ₹18,000. Through the collective efforts of all students, they successfully raised a total of ₹24,201. The entire amount was utilized for the purchase of groceries and other essentials, which were delivered to the college a day prior to the event and loaded into the bus on the morning of the outreach.

On the day of the programme, the group departed from college in the morning and reached the orphanage shortly after. Upon arrival, all students actively participated in unloading and carrying the groceries into the premises. They then prepared for the interactive sessions with the children. To ensure maximum participation and variety, they divided themselves into four teams - singing, dancing, games, and bonding. The programme began with the team singing a few songs, followed by the children showcasing their own talents in singing, dancing, and mimicry. This exchange of performances created a joyful atmosphere and encouraged stronger connections between the children and the students.

The entertainment was followed by a series of games and conversations where they engaged closely with the children. During these interactions, they spoke about their lives, their experiences, and the challenges they faced while living with HIV. These conversations not only deepened the understanding of the students but also inspired them with their resilience and positivity. Following this, they moved to the dining area where the students served lunch to the children and shared the meal alongside them, fostering a sense of equality, unity, and belonging.

As the day concluded and the team made their way back to college, they reflected on the lessons and memories gained from the outreach. The programme was a resounding success as it achieved and even exceeded its objectives. Beyond the numbers, the experience instilled in them a deeper sense of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility. This event has motivated the team to continue engaging in community service and has strengthened their commitment to giving back to society in every way possible.
